| 概要 | The study was carried out on 171 individuals (93 males, 78 females) who were among the participants in a dental checkup and questionnaire survey conducted in Tianjin, China. In our study, the participants were classified into a group with 8 or less missing teeth (the good group) and a group with 9 or more missing teeth (the not-good group).
Our findings confirmed that in the good group, the subjective level of oral health was high in both men and women, and that the elderly themselves were aware that there was an association between missing teeth and oral health. In men, most foods were those frequently ingested by the good group; and eating habits were affected by tooth loss. In women, the toothbrushing frequency, sleeping hours and sense of well-being were high the good group, and missing teeth were associated to lifestyle habits and the sense of well-being. |
